For example there's a scene where the entire stage is in complete darkness apart from a flashlight held by the actor, the limited vision makes the audience extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable. Silence is also used a lot, long moments where nothing is happening, building tension. Also the atmosphere in the theatre is very tense, everyone is expecting to be scared and so it's easier to scare them. I can't imagine this being very scary on DVD

May 17, 2012 - I am curious as to how one would write what seems to be such a terrifying play. I have not seen it but wouldn't the limitations of the stage stop the horrifying scenes? People are literally jumping in this video. How does one create this effect in a stage play? I'm curious.

Feb 26, 2012 - it was a play. perhaps the best play ever. Written by two genius individuals; Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman. Finished over a year ago now sadly, I recommend reading Jeremy Dyson's books though. He writes some amazing ghost stories in them. xxx

Oct 24, 2011 - you can't as far as i know they keep (kept) it a tight secret as to not spoil the show for people who were going to see it for the first time. its no longer in London either i saw it 3 times and loved it every time but i miss it and have also been trying to find clips from it...with no luck because of the secret of it being kept by the cast and everyone involved and the loyalty form everyone who saw it whilst it was on the stage. L

Aug 28, 2011 - It's nothing like PA and it does make you jump.  There were some people screaming. It is a bit like a live horror film like they say, as the main focus is to make you jump - It is pretty intense. It's finished at the Threatre now though........
